Meet Louise Pocock: The Creative Talent Behind Our Millinery Masterclass

At Curious Creatives, we’re beyond excited to welcome the exceptionally talented Louise Pocock as our millinery tutor for the August 2025 Craft Retreat! With a career dedicated to creating stunning headpieces and hats, Louise brings a perfect blend of expertise, creativity, and warmth to her workshops.

Louise isn’t new to the Curious Creatives world—in fact, she was Sue’s millinery tutor back in 2009, sparking Sue’s own passion for the craft. Now, Louise is joining us as part of the retreat team to guide students in creating their very own ‘fabulous headwear.’

Louise is an accomplished milliner with an incredible eye for design and detail. Based in Malvern Wells at the foot of the Malvern Hills, she creates bespoke hats and headpieces that blend traditional millinery techniques with a modern flair. Her work has been featured in The Guardian, Good Housekeeping, and Cotswold Life, and her creations are treasured by clients seeking unique, handcrafted designs for special occasions.

With City & Guilds Advanced Diplomas in Millinery, Louise has honed her craft over years of dedication to both her artistry and teaching. Her passion for millinery shines through in every piece she creates and every class she teaches.

What to Expect in Louise’s Masterclass

In this immersive three-day millinery course, students will learn a combination of traditional and contemporary millinery skills. Louise will guide participants through shaping and blocking sinamay, exploring creative embellishments like jinsin, feathers, and handmade flowers, and crafting bespoke headpieces that reflect each student’s personal style.

Whether you’re completely new to millinery or have some experience, Louise’s approachable and supportive teaching style ensures you’ll leave the retreat with new skills, confidence, and a headpiece you’ll be proud to wear.

A Personal Note from Louise

"I’m so excited to join the Curious Creatives Craft Retreat as a tutor," says Louise. "Millinery is such a rewarding and creative craft, and I can’t wait to guide students in making their own fabulous headwear while learning traditional and contemporary skills. It’s going to be an inspiring experience for everyone!"
