Louise Pocock
Discover the art of millinery with Louise Pocock in this inspiring three-day hands-on course. Perfect for beginners and those with some experience, this workshop will teach you how to craft a beautiful percher or statement headpiece from start to finish, combining traditional techniques with creative flair.
What You’ll Learn and Create:
Day One: Dive into the foundations of millinery by learning how to block and shape sinamay, a lightweight and versatile fabric, to form the base for your headpiece. Choose from a chic button-style percher or an elegant headband design, and finish it with secure fittings such as a headband, comb, or elastic.
Day Two: Explore the exciting world of embellishments! Louise will introduce you to working with jinsin, a sculptural fabric ideal for bold designs, and guide you through creating delicate flowers, turban twists, and ribbon work to elevate your headpiece.
Day Three: Add the final flourishes by incorporating feathers, crafting corsages, and perfecting the balance of your design. By the end of the retreat, your unique creation will be ready to wear or display!
